GET A LIBRARY CARD
The library offers two types of cards.
Regular Library Card, which will give you full access to both the library’s digital (online) collection and physical (at library) collection. To get this card you must visit the library in-person and provide proof of identity and current address.
Digital Library Card, which only allows access to the library’s digital (online) collection. To get a digital library card you must complete the application below. After 60 days your digital library card will expire and you then must visit the library to renew your card and you’ll be issued regular library card (proof of identity and address required). Digital Library Cards will only be issued to patrons living or attending school in Page County, Iowa.
*Some databases maybe limited based on your address.
**If you live outside of Iowa a non-resident fee may apply.

USING THE LIBRARY
Renew Library Items
Most library materials may be renewed two times if no one else has placed a request for the item. You may renew an item:
Online by accessing your account.
In person at the Circulation Desk.
By calling the library at 712-542-2416 during open hours.
Online by sending an email.
Returning Library Items
You can return items to the Library the following ways:
Drive-up/Walk-up book drop on the east side of the building.
Book Drop at the Circulation Desk during open hours.
Library To Go – Curbside Service
Reserve your items online, by email, or call us at 712-542-2416.
You will be notified that your items are ready to pick up.
Prior to arriving at the library, contact us that you’re on your way.
Your items will be placed outside in one of our pickup lockers.
Interlibrary Loan (ILL) & Purchase Suggestions
Can’t find what you’re looking for in our catalog? We may still be able to help. If the library doesn’t own an item, you have two options: you can suggest that we purchase it for our collection, or you can request it through Interlibrary Loan (ILL), which allows us to borrow items from other libraries. To help us locate the correct item, please include as much information as possible, such as the title, author, ISBN, publication year, or any other details you have. Requests to purchase materials are reviewed by library staff, and all purchase decisions are made at the library’s discretion and according to our Collection Development Policy.

Overdue Items & Late Fees
The Library is FINE FREE! – But items kept over 90 days are considered theft of resources and must be paid for.
The maximum total of fees for all items is $5.00. Once this amount has been reached, or items are overdue, computer and library privileges are suspended.
You will receive notice once your items are two weeks overdue. Once your items are four weeks over due the library will mail a letter indicating the materials that are over due.
Failure to return or repay for lost library item may result in legal action being taken.
Lost Items
If an item is lost or damaged, your account will be charged for the cost of the item plus a $5 processing fee.
Homebound Service
Homebound Service designed to ensure that individuals who are unable to visit the library in person can still enjoy its resources. This service is particularly beneficial for homebound individuals and residents of care centers.
Interested individuals or their caregivers can register for the service by contacting the library. The library staff will assist in setting up the service and determining the types of materials the patron prefers.

Services
Photo Printing — Photographic printing kiosk which you can connect your phone, memory card, and scan photos into. You can even remotely send your photos to be picked up from the library by visiting https://www.kioskprints.com/.
Printing & Copy — Black & White and Color printing and copying is available for a fee. Printing is also available from most personal devices (smartphones).
Faxing & Scanning — Can send and receive faxes and scans to email & USB devices. Scanning is free, there is a fee to fax.
Computers — Various computers are available for public use, see library staff about a guest pass.

Internet & Wi-Fi — High-speed internet is available along with wireless internet (Wi-Fi) throughout the library grounds. Mobile hotspots are also available for loan.
Exam/Test Proctoring — Exam proctoring can be arranged by contacting library staff.
Laminating — Staff can assist with laminating for a fee.
Die Cuts — Dies are available to cut at the library with your own paper. A list of available dies can be found online here.
Glowforge & 3D Printing — A Glowforge Pro laser cutter/engraver and Bambu Labs 3D Printer are available for use at the library for a fee. Users must visit with library staff prior to the use of this equipment. 3D Print Request
Seed Library — A free community program where people can take packets of seeds to plant vegetables, herbs, or flowers and share their harvested seeds.
Meeting & Study Rooms — There’s a number of meeting and study spaces at the library that can hold 1 to 80 people, to inquire about using a space and to check availability use this link.
Used Book Sale — The Friends of the Library volunteer group operates an ongoing used book sale at the library during library hours. If you have items to donate please use this link.
Research & Newspaper Archives — We have a various collection of research and local history information at the library, you can also learn about our digital Clarinda, Iowa Newspapers here.
Accessibility & Accommodations — The library is a fully handicapped accessible building with handicapped parking. Additional services include Large Print, Audiobook, and Digital materials. The Library is a Dementia Friendly facility and has a wide collection of Dementia materials for the community.
